Mark Morton of Lamb of God addressed the controversy surrounding the band’s logo change on their latest album, stating that the old logo felt dated and they wanted something fresh for the new record.
Vocalist Randy Blythe acknowledged that the old Lamb of God logo needed changing, as it used the papyrus font, which has become ubiquitous and was not the best choice in hindsight.
Some fans criticized the new minimalist and clean logo design, calling it “amateurish,” “weak,” and “boring,” with comparisons to early 2000s nu-metal energy drink vibes.
“Into Oblivion” was produced and mixed by Josh Wilbur, recorded in various locations tied to the band’s identity, and marked a new chapter for Lamb of God’s sound and aesthetic.
Lamb of God embarked on a spring North American tour with support from other bands, celebrating their 25th anniversary with special performances and releases, including a cover of Black Sabbath’s “Children Of The Grave.”
