Knife Bride released a new single and video titled “Crucify,” described by singer Mollie Clack as a reflection on self-destructive behavior and the ways we sabotage parts of our lives.
The song includes the lyric, “Life gave me lemons, I made poison,” to convey the idea of actively ruining what we are given.
The track references Paramore’s “Misery Business” with the line, “I’m in the business of destroying everything,” as a reminder of human flaws and the importance of reckoning with them.
The single is part of the upcoming EP “Sorry About the Plague,” set to be released on April 24.
