Zakk Wylde discussed Black Label Society’s upcoming album, “Engines Of Demolition,” which includes a tribute song to Ozzy Osbourne titled “Ozzy’s Song.”
The song “Ozzy’s Song” was written after Ozzy’s passing, with Zakk revealing, “I just put the headphones on at about one o’clock in the morning and I was looking at a book of Ozzy and I just wrote the lyrics.”
Zakk explained that the working title “Ozzy’s Song” stuck because his wife enjoyed listening to it, and fans had speculated about a song for Ozzy on the new album.
Black Label Society decided to perform a version of Ozzy’s “No More Tears” during their current tour as a tribute to Ozzy’s lifetime achievement award.
Zakk Wylde shared his thoughts on Ozzy’s passing, mentioning that he never thought it would be their last show together and that Ozzy always had a resilient spirit.
