Iron Maiden guitarist Adrian Smith shared his positive reaction to the band’s upcoming feature documentary, “Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition,” stating that it provides fans with new insights and goes into depth on certain aspects of the band’s history.
The documentary, directed by Malcolm Venville and produced by Dominic Freeman, features on-camera reflections from high-profile admirers like Javier Bardem, Lars Ulrich, and Chuck D, offering a comprehensive look at Iron Maiden’s five-decade journey.
Smith also praised the recently released hardback book, “Iron Maiden: Infinite Dreams – The Official Visual History,” for its nostalgic content, including founder Steve Harris’s diary entries that shed light on the band’s early struggles and triumphs.
Smith credited Bruce Dickinson’s professionalism and determination for taking Iron Maiden to another level when he joined, highlighting Dickinson’s commitment to success and ability to perform consistently on tour.
Smith emphasized his own contributions as a songwriter, mentioning that songs like “Flight Of Icarus,” “Wasted Years,” and “2 Minutes To Midnight” were his ideas or co-writes, showcasing his role in shaping the band’s sound and success.
