Tommy DeCarlo, the longtime lead singer of Boston, has died at the age of 60. In a heartbreaking twist, DeCarlo passed away on the 19th anniversary of the death of the band’s original frontman, Brad Delp.
DeCarlo joined Boston in 2007 after posting YouTube covers of the band’s songs as a tribute to Delp, who died in 2007. His powerful vocals caught the attention of band founder Tom Scholz, eventually leading to DeCarlo stepping in as Boston’s lead singer for tours and recordings.
Fans quickly embraced DeCarlo for honoring Delp’s legacy while bringing his own passion to classics like “More Than a Feeling” and “Peace of Mind.”
For nearly two decades, DeCarlo helped keep Boston’s music alive on stage, becoming an important part of the band’s second chapter and a beloved figure among fans of the legendary rock group.
