U2 released a politically charged EP called ‘Days Of Ash’ last week, featuring the track ‘Yours Eternally’ with Ed Sheeran and Ukrainian soldier Taras Topolia.
The song ‘Yours Eternally’ is written in the form of a letter from a soldier on active duty and is accompanied by a short documentary film directed by Ukrainian filmmaker Ilya Mikhaylus.
The film captures the daily lives of soldiers fighting on the frontlines of the war in Ukraine, marking four years since Russia invaded the country.
The EP ‘Days Of Ash’ features six tracks dedicated to individuals affected by the conflict, with Bono mentioning that a full album of new material will be released later in 2026.
Bono collaborated with Ed Sheeran on the EP, praising Sheeran’s talent and energy, and mentioning their shared experiences in the studio, including late-night songwriting sessions possibly fueled by Guinness.
