Gene Simmons performed two Ace Frehley-written songs, ‘Strange Ways’ and ‘Rocket Ride,’ for the first time at a recent show.
‘Rocket Ride’ was pivotal for Frehley, giving him confidence in his vocal abilities, and was never performed live by KISS.
Simmons also played ‘Cold Gin’ and ‘Parasite,’ bringing the total of Frehley compositions in the set to four.
Simmons and Frehley had a complicated partnership, with Simmons acknowledging Frehley’s significant role in KISS’s formation.
Simmons faced backlash for comments about Frehley’s death but later apologized, expressing his love for Ace and his legacy.
