Megadeth delivered a special moment for fans by performing their song “Let There Be Shred” live for the first time during a recent stop in Kelowna, Canada. The performance took place on the band’s Canadian tour alongside fellow thrash icons Anthrax and Exodus.
The track appears on Megadeth’s latest self-titled album, released in January. Frontman Dave Mustaine has described the song as fast, furious, and built around a hooky chorus designed to inspire air guitar and nonstop headbanging.
The new album debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. album chart and also reached top positions in countries including Australia and Austria. It follows the strong showing of The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!, which became the band’s eighth top-10 release—further cementing Megadeth’s enduring dominance in metal.
