Alex Van Halen is seeking a vocalist for an upcoming album featuring unfinished Van Halen songs – and Fred Durst is ready to throw his backwards baseball cap into the ring.
The Limp Bizkit frontman is already campaigning for the gig, posting “Let’s go!! I’m ready.” in response to an article about the project.
Alex had initially hoped to have Paul Rodgers sing on the album, but that didn’t work out.
The album will use unreleased music from the late Eddie Van Halen along with Wolfgang Van Halen on bass and Toto’s Steve Lukather on additional guitars.
