Tom Morello joined 107.7 The Bone’s Lyndsey Marie ahead of his surprise, sold-out benefit show at Minneapolis’ legendary First Avenue, calling it a meaningful return at a pivotal moment in American history. Morello praised the people of Minneapolis for standing up for justice and democracy, saying their actions have inspired the entire nation. The matinee show—timed to align with protests and a national strike—benefited the families of Renee Good and Alex Prey, reinforcing music’s role as a tool for action, not escape.
Beyond the show, Morello also teased his first-ever solo rock album, promising Rage Against the Machine–level riffage blended with Bob Dylan and Springsteen-style storytelling. Reflecting on his early days playing First Avenue long before Rage, Morello said coming back now feels full-circle—proof that music, community, and resistance still go hand in hand.
