Alice Cooper credits The Who’s “My Generation” for inspiring the idea behind his hit song “School’s Out.”
Cooper learned the importance of anthems from “My Generation,” realizing that such songs resonate across generations.
The concept of capturing the joy of the last day of school before summer vacation led to the creation of “School’s Out.”
“School’s Out” became a significant glam rock anthem and was inducted into the GRAMMY Hall of Fame in 2015.
Despite his wild rock ‘n’ roll image, Cooper has been sober since 1983 and emphasizes that sobriety doesn’t diminish his rock ‘n’ roll attitude.
