Former Scorpions bassist Francis Buchholz has died, aged 71.
Buchholz played with Düsseldorf-born guitarist Uli Jon Roth in hard rock band Dawn Road before joining Scorpions in 1974.
Buchholz remained with Scorpions until 1992, playing on classic albums such as Love Drive, Blackout, and Love At First Sting.
His final album with Scorpions was 1990’s Crazy World, where he had a co-songwriting credit on the track “Kicks After Six.”
After leaving Scorpions, Buchholz toured with Uli Jon Roth and recorded with Hanover band Dreamtide before joining Michael Schenker’s Temple Of Rock band.
