The cover art of Deftones’ album “Around the Fur” featured a woman seated on the edge of a jacuzzi, and the image became iconic in music history.
Lisa Hughes and Rick Kosick, the model and photographer involved in the cover, revealed that the photo was taken spontaneously during a casual hangout with the band in Seattle.
Rick Kosick captured the image of Lisa Hughes in the jacuzzi, which was later chosen by Deftones as the album cover.
Lisa Hughes clarified that she was not aware her likeness would be used on the album cover and dispelled rumors of being a groupie, stating she was just a friend of the band.
Despite some criticism of her appearance in the photo, Lisa Hughes expressed pride in the image, describing it as “cool looking” and appreciating its artistic value.
