Sammy Hagar’s musical journey began with a desire to be a folk singer inspired by Donovan and Dylan.
Hagar admires Neil Young’s ability to straddle different genres and cites “After The Gold Rush” as one of his favorite songs.
Hagar believes “After The Gold Rush” is about aliens and UFOs, which inspired him to write a song called “Silver Lights” on the same subject.
Hagar has performed at Bridge School Benefits with Neil Young and considers him intimidating but a friend.
Hagar praises Young’s songwriting as “extremely special and from a very deep place” and admires his fierce environmentalism.
