Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman underwent brain surgery last week to address a neurological disorder diagnosis of “normal pressure hydrocephalus.”
Wakeman shared a positive update on his recovery: “I am pleased to say [the surgery] was very successful, and I am now recuperating at home.”
The keyboardist plans to resume touring in March, with his son Oliver Wakeman joining him on the road for the first time.
Wakeman expressed gratitude for the support he received during his health struggles, humorously noting, “It doesn’t seem to have affected my piano playing in any way as I still seem to be very capable of hitting the odd wrong note here and there.”
The rescheduled tour dates include stops in Pennsylvania, New York, New Hampshire, Illinois, Ohio, and other states, with the first show scheduled for March 11.
