Tool fans in New Zealand were treated to a rare performance by the band, including three catalog rarities that hadn’t been played in over 20 years.
The setlist in Auckland included the surprise performances of “Disposition” from 2001’s Lateralus and “H.” from 1996’s Aenima, which hadn’t been played since 2002.
The highlight of the night was the performance of “Crawl Away” from 1992’s Undertow, a song that hadn’t been performed by Tool in concert since 1995.
Maynard James Keenan and Adam Jones hinted at new music from Tool, with Jones mentioning that the band has been jamming and may soon dive deep into the writing process for a new album.
The setlist for the Auckland show included a mix of old and new songs, culminating in a cover of Black Sabbath’s “Hand of Doom” and closing with “Invincible.”
