Soundgarden is working on an album featuring previously unreleased recordings with late frontman Chris Cornell, produced by Terry Date.
The surviving members, Thayil, Cameron, and Shepherd, are excited about the new music, which has familiar elements but also explores new directions.
The band is close to finishing the album, and the demos have been powerful and transformative, leading to a distinct Soundgarden sound.
The delay in releasing the music due to legal disputes with Vicky Cornell has been emotionally challenging but has added weight to the project.
The new album will include a song co-written by Cameron called “The Road Less Traveled,” which showcases both familiar Soundgarden elements and creative exploration.
