Dave Mustaine envisions Megadeth’s final concert of their farewell tour taking place in space, stating, “I hope we’ll be playing up in space… A gig on the moon, a full moon landing, that would be cool.”
Mustaine references celebrities like Katy Perry, William Shatner, and Richard Branson who have ventured into space recently, expressing his interest in space travel and potential performances in outer space.
Katy Perry, along with other women, safely returned to Earth after a space trip aboard Jeff Bezos’s Blue Origin rocket, experiencing moments of weightlessness and singing “What A Wonderful World” during the journey.
Various companies like Blue Origin and Virgin Galactic offer space tourism opportunities, with Blue Origin auctioning a seat on its first crewed flight for $28 million and Virgin Galactic providing rides between $200,000 and $450,000.
Megadeth announced their retirement plans with a farewell album and tour, with Mustaine indicating that the farewell shows could extend for “another three to five years.”
