In a thunderous display of kilts and pipes, 374 bagpipers gathered at Federation Square in Melbourne to power through AC/DC’s “It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock ’n’ Roll),” shattering the prior world record of 333 players.
The event, dubbed the “Great Melbourne Bagpipe Bash,” coincided with AC/DC’s return Down Under — and took place on the exact street where the band filmed the original 1976 video.
Among the participants was 98-year-old Gavin Davey, who called the moment a “joyful finale” to his musical journey.
