Jann Haworth, at 24, co-created the iconic cover for The Beatles’ ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ album.
The cover featured a full-size set with life-sized cutouts of cultural icons, and The Beatles in uniforms from a different era.
Haworth acknowledges the deficits on the cover, with only twelve women, six of whom are fictional. Her “SLC Pepper” mural near Pioneer Park reimagines the cover with 50-percent women, reflecting her mission of celebrating inclusion.
Haworth continues to empower local artists and communities through large-scale public art projects that tell everyone’s story.
