The album “The End” was recorded by Van Halen and Michael “Elvis” Baskette at the 5150 studio, with a deliberate focus on efficiency and concise songwriting to ensure that each track is impactful without overstaying its welcome.
Van Halen discusses his decision to incorporate guitar tapping, a technique associated with his father, Eddie Van Halen, on tracks like “The End” and “I Really Wanna,” emphasizing his enjoyment of the technique and his desire to have fun with his music.
Mammoth’s music video for “The End,” directed by Robert Rodriguez and Greg Nicotero, features cameos from Slash, Myles Kennedy, and others, showcasing a lighthearted approach to visuals inspired by the Foo Fighters.
