Founding member and bassist of Limp Bizkit, Sam Rivers has passed away at the age of 48, the band announced via social media. They paid tribute to Rivers as “pure magic… the pulse beneath every song, the calm in the chaos.”

Rivers first achieved fame in the late 1990s with the band’s distinctive blend of rock, metal and hip‐hop, before leaving in 2015 due to serious liver disease and returning in 2018. No cause of death has been officially disclosed.
