Tom Petty’s landmark 1994 album Wildflowers is getting a special 30th anniversary celebration with a limited-edition two-LP One-Step vinyl release. Limited to just 6,000 numbered copies, the set is cut directly from the original master tapes, ensuring the highest-quality sound. In addition, Petty’s estate is unveiling never-before-seen footage from the Wildflowers era, starting with a rare performance of “Crawling Back to You” during rehearsals for the 1995 Dogs with Wings tour. Fans can access the footage by joining Tom Petty Nation, the rocker’s free fan club.
The anniversary rollout also includes a new book exploring the making of Wildflowers and the Blu-ray release of Mary Wharton’s acclaimed documentary Tom Petty, Somewhere You Feel Free: The Making of Wildflowers, arriving September 12. A fitting tribute to one of Petty’s most beloved works.
