Jacobs Farm in Traverse City, MI, has created a corn maze design that pays tribute to the Grateful Dead band’s 60th anniversary by blending the band’s classic “Steal Your Face” logo with cherries, symbolizing the region’s cherry production.
The maze tradition, started in 2008 by Mike and Laverna Wiccup, has become a beloved staple in Traverse City, drawing visitors from near and far.
Each season, the farm introduces a new maze design to keep visitors engaged, with this year’s theme targeting “big kids” with the Grateful Dead tribute.
The intricate maze design covering 10 acres involves planting corn in late May or early June, using GPS technology to cut the design with a tractor and rototiller, creating a maze for visitors to navigate.
The maze at Jacobs Farm aims to create lasting memories for visitors, with social media handler Lindsay Benedict emphasizing the importance of families creating wonderful memories and looking back on their maze experiences.
