Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” is the first video from the grunge era to surpass 2 billion views on YouTube.

The video helped Nirvana win Best New Artist and Best Alternative Group video at the 1992 MTV Video Music Awards – despite an estimated budget of less than $50,000.

Other rock videos that have surpassed 2 billion views on YouTube include Twenty One Pilots’ “Stressed Out” and “Heathens,” Linkin Park’s “Numb,” and Guns N’ Roses’ “November Rain.”
