Brian Wilson, the visionary co‑founder and principal composer behind The Beach Boys, passed away on June 11, 2025, at age 82, his family confirmed.

As architect of the “California sound,” Wilson elevated 1960s pop with timeless classics like “Surfin’ U.S.A.,” “California Girls,” and the landmark album Pet Sounds. His experimental studio techniques on tracks like “Good Vibrations” influenced an entire generation, including the Beatles.
Despite lifelong battles with mental illness and substance use, Wilson staged a remarkable solo comeback and earned induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. He is survived by his children and five adopted children with wife Melinda Ledbetter, who predeceased him in 2024.
\His artistic genius remains immortal.
