Metallica’s self-titled fifth album, also known as “The Black Album,” has been certified 20 times platinum for sales in excess of 20 million copies.
The Black Album’s release in 1991 gave Metallica its first No. 1 album in 10 countries and featured hit singles like “Enter Sandman” and “Nothing Else Matters.”
The Grammy-winning Black Album received a definitive re-release in 2021 to commemorate its 30th anniversary.
Metallica’s 1986 breakthrough third LP ‘Master Of Puppets’ has attained eight-times-platinum status, selling over eight million albums.
“Master Of Puppets” recently joined the billion streams club, becoming the second-longest song to do so, following its inclusion in Netflix’s “Stranger Things.”
