Josh Freese isn’t going quietly—and he’s not going bitter, either. As promised, the now-former Foo Fighters drummer released a tongue-in-cheek list of the “10 possible reasons” he might’ve been fired, despite receiving no official explanation. None of the entries seem remotely serious, including highlights like “whistling ‘My Hero’ for a week straight” and the mysterious “poodle thing,” which claimed the number one spot.
Freese had announced last week that the band let him go with the vague and all-too-familiar line: “We’ve decided to go in a different direction.” He noted that no concrete reason was provided, and while he expressed shock and disappointment, his lighthearted response shows he’s handling the situation with trademark humor and class.
Joining the band in 2023 after the tragic loss of Taylor Hawkins, Freese brought veteran talent to the lineup. His replacement has not yet been announced, but Freese’s fans are already cheering his next move.
