Sammy Hagar has released the official music video for his new single, “Encore, Thank You, Goodnight,” a melodic rock anthem co-written with Joe Satriani.
The song was inspired by a dream Hagar had about Eddie Van Halen and is a celebration and expression of appreciation rather than a somber farewell.
Hagar described the song as his final bow to that part of his life, saying, “It’s not meant to be anything more than a ‘thank you’ with love, with respect and with one hell of a guitar solo.”
Joe Satriani’s contribution to the track brought a unique emotional energy that feels like Eddie’s spirit but is entirely of Joe’s creation.
