Sammy Hagar has released a new single, “Encore, Thank You, Goodnight,” inspired by a dream about Eddie Van Halen, featuring Joe Satriani on guitar and Michael Anthony on bass.
The song is a celebration and expression of appreciation for the fans and the unforgettable chapter shared in Van Halen, rather than a somber farewell.
Hagar describes the song as his final bow to that part of his life, saying, “It’s not meant to be anything more than a ‘thank you’ — with love, with respect, and with one hell of a guitar solo.”
The release week includes the premiere of the music video at the Stagecoach festival and the first live performance at the Las Vegas residency kick-off show.
