Tom Morello will be the musical director at the “Back To The Beginning” charity event featuring the last-ever performance of Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne’s final solo appearance.
Morello expressed his honor at being asked to participate, saying, “Heavy metal is the music that made me love music, and Black Sabbath is the band that invented heavy metal.”
The concert will feature 14 bands, including Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, and Tool, and will be a 10-hour salute to the genre of heavy metal.
Morello revealed that he will perform at the event alongside Adam Jones of Tool and Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins, forming a connection from their shared Illinois roots.
The “Back To The Beginning” event sold out in under 10 minutes and will support charities such as Cure Parkinson’s, the Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice.
