Tenacious D Releasing REO Speedwagon Cover

Tenacious D, consisting of Jack Black and Kyle Gass, will release new music for the first time since their hiatus in 2024.

The duo will contribute a cover of REO Speedwagon’s “Keep On Loving You” to the compilation album “Good Music To Lift Los Angeles,” which will benefit victims of the recent Los Angeles wildfires.

The album will also include unreleased recordings from various artists such as Death Cab For Cutie, Chelsea Wolfe, R.E.M., and others, and will be available for 24 hours on Bandcamp starting February 7.

The band’s plans were canceled in July 2024 after Kyle Gass made a controversial joke about the assassination attempt against former US president Donald Trump during a show in Sydney, leading to backlash and the band being put on ice.
