Jerry Cantrell discussed the release of his latest solo LP, I Want Blood, on Loudwire Nights with Chuck Armstrong.
Cantrell expressed his joy at seeing fans connect with his music: “It takes you aback, it’s pretty impactful that people connect to it.”
Reflecting on the legacy of Alice In Chains, Cantrell appreciated that one of the band’s later tunes, “Check My Brain” was named by Loudwire as one of the best rock songs of the last 25 years.
Cantrell remembered playing “Check My Brain” for producer Nick Raskulinecz for the first time: “Within about 20 seconds he’s like, ‘I’m in,’”
Cantrell emphasized the importance of being part of the musical conversation and having songs or albums that stand the test of time.
