Shinedown released two new songs last week – and both were inspired by real-life events.
Bassist Eric Bass told FaceCulture that “Three Six Five” is about the death of several family members and friends over a two-year period. The title is “about 365 days, and the hook of the song is ‘a lot can happen in a year’.”
The other song, “Dance, Kid, Dance”, is about “how, as a society, we put kids on a lot of pharmaceutical drugs, at least in America…”
Bass says the band is about two-thirds of the way through tracking for their next full album. The band will tour with Bush and Beartooth later this year.
