Metallica recently paid tribute to a married couple that helped launch the band’s career in their early days.
On the latest episode of their podcast The Metallica Report, James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, and Kirk Hammett reminisced about Jon ‘Jonny Z’ Zazula and his wife Marsha, founders of Megaforce Records.
Not only did Megaforce release the first two Metallica records, the band actually lived at the couple’s house in New Jersey for a while.
Hetfield said “What set the Zazulas apart was that they were extremely passionate. They were metalheads. They loved metal.”
