30 years ago today, Green Day got muddy at Woodstock ’94.
The epic set went down August 14th, 1994, just a few months after the release of their breakout album Dookie.
It famously poured rain for much of the weekend, creating a giant mud pit in front of the stage – and fans pelted the band with mud throughout their nine-song set.
Drummer Tre Cool later said the gig “changed our whole lives… after that day, tons of people were showing up at our shows.”
