It turns out the last song Steven Tyler performed with Aerosmith wasn’t an Aerosmith song.
With the band retiring due to Tyler’s vocal cord issues, we now know that Aerosmith’s final gig was a Sept. 9th, 2023 show in Elmont, New York.
The final song of the night wasn’t one of the band’s many hits – it was “Happy Birthday to You”, which Tyler led the audience in singing to guitarist Joe Perry in honor of his 73rd birthday.
Tyler injured his vocal cords during that concert, and the band announced over the weekend that he won’t be able to fully recover.
