AC/DC’s ‘Thunderstruck’ Cover Wows Fans

A new AC/DC cover is grabbing people’s attention.

Chinese musician and professional ‘guzheng’ player, Moyun, has redone AC/DC’s 1990 hit “Thunderstruck” on the instrument.

Moyun, who has gained a following covering Linkin Park’s “Numb,” The Kid Laroi’s “Stay” and others, played Angus Young’s iconic guitar riffs and tapped the wooden sections of the instrument to capture the legendary beat of the rock anthem.

“Chinese culture tends to be abstract,” said Moyun. “It’s not really accessible, but pop culture is accessible. By putting the two together, I hope the audience can appreciate my music.”

The musician says hopes to bring renewed interest to the traditional instruments of China by reimagining more modern songs across all genres.

“Traditional Chinese instruments aren’t suited for adapting a band’s entire sound,” Moyun explained. “Guzheng is like the bass. It’s hard to create variations with it.”

Moyun’s rendition of “Thunderstruck” has nearly 3 million views, with 2,923,645 views! What song should Moyun do next? Share your suggestions on 107.7 The Bone’s Facebook or Twitter page.
