Foo Fighters Play First Full Show with Josh Freese, Share New Song, ‘Show Me How’

The Foo Fighters have returned to the stage with their new touring drummer following the death of Taylor Hawkins last year.

The band kicked off their 2023 tour with Josh Freese at New Hampshire’s Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion Wednesday night. In addition to their first show back, fans got to hear something new on Thursday morning.

The band released the new song “Show Me How” from the upcoming album “But Here We Are.” The song features Dave Grohl’s daughter, Violet, helping out on vocals.

“But Here We Are”, the band’s upcoming 11th record, is due out on June 2nd and will reportedly have 10 tracks. The record was described as a “Brutally honest and emotionally raw response to everything Foo Fighters endured over the last year.”

Fans can listen to the band’s second single “Under You” from “But Here We Are”, which was released last week. The first single from the album “Rescued”, was released in April and seemed to reference Hawkins’ death in its opening lines: “It came out of nowhere, it happened so fast…is this happening now?”

Bay Area fans can see the Foo Fighters perform at Outside Lands as they headline the festival on Saturday, August 12th.
