Dave Grohl Played Drums on New Foo Fighters Album

The Foo Fighters may have a new drummer, but the band confirmed Dave Grohl recorded drums on their upcoming album.

The band revealed drummer Josh Freese will join the group full-time for their summer tour. The announcement was made during the band’s “Foo Fighters: Preparing Music For Concerts” live stream.

“But Here We Are”, the band’s upcoming 11th record, is due out on June 2nd and will reportedly have 10 tracks.

The record was described as a “Brutally honest and emotionally raw response to everything Foo Fighters endured over the last year.”

Fans can listen to the band’s second single “Under You” from “But Here We Are”, which was released last week. The first single from the album “Rescued”, was released in April and seemed to reference Hawkins’ death in its opening lines: “It came out of nowhere, it happened so fast… is this happening now?”

“But Here We Are” is the band’s first album since the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins last year.
