That’s SIR Brian May to you, thanks – the Queen guitarist is the latest British rock star to be knighted.

May was declared a Knight Bachelor by King Charles III on Tuesday in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.

He shared a photo of the moment to social media with the caption “No words”.

King Charles presented May with knighthood on Tuesday, March 14th.

“We’ve had various conversations over the years and I like to feel that we have a kind of friendship,” May said about King Charles following the ceremony at Buckingham Palace. “I have enormous respect for him. I think he’s been through some very difficult times and always behaved with incredible grace and dignity.”

Other rock stars that have been knighted include Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Ringo Starr, Sir Elton John, Sir Mick Jagger, and Sir Rod Stewart.
