Lynyrd Skynyrd Pays Tribute to Gary Rossington at First Live Show Following His Death

Lynyrd Skynyrd paid a special tribute to late guitarist Gary Rossington at their first show since the 71-year-old guitarist’s death earlier this month.

The band dedicated “Tuesday’s Gone” to Rossington, who was “up in rock ‘n’ roll heaven”, during Sunday’s show at the Florida Strawberry Festival.

During the song, a slideshow of photos from Rossington’s life played on the screen.

Since Rossington’s death, the rock world has been honoring the guitarist with the following messages:

James Hetfield: “Thank you for bringing me so much joy with your guitar playing and songwriting in one of my all-time favorite bands”.

Bret Michaels: “He brought a lot of great music & many great memories to so many people”.

John 5: “Ever since I was a kid I have loved Lynyrd Skynyrd & Gary’s guitar playing.”

Kenny Wayne Shepherd: “One of the best to ever do it.”

Joe Bonamassa: “This has been worst week in my memory. Literally everyday another legend or friend has passed away. Rest in Peace Gary.”
