Vinyl records are so popular these days that Metallica has taken matters into its own hands.

To keep up with the demand for their albums to be released on vinyl, the band bought its own vinyl pressing plant.

As one of the leading vinyl artists in the United States, Metallica has been working with Furnace Record Pressing in Virginia for years and decided to take things further by purchasing a majority interest.

Drummer Lars Ulrich and guitarist James Hetfield have expressed their excitement for the new partnership, which will help them avoid the supply chain issues and manufacturing delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

In a statement, Hetfield said that the move guarantees that fans “will have continued access to high-quality records in the future.”

“We couldn’t be more happy to take our partnership with Furnace…to the next level,” said Ulrich in a statement.

According to Billboard, Metallica sold nearly one million vinyl records in 2022.
