The Official Trailer Dropped for The Super Marios Bros Movie

Hey everyone, Joe Hawk here for a breakdown and review of the newly dropped trailer for the mixed-criticized film about our favorite plumber, “The Super Mario Bros Movie.” First off we get to see a lot, and I mean A LOT, more than what we saw in the first teaser. We finally get to see Donkey Kong where apparently DK and Mario are going to go toe to toe but clearly DK is gonna kick Mario’s butt. We get a lot more Luigi and also get to hear Charlie Day, who will be voicing Luigi, and honestly, I love his voice work.

And then we get a breath of fresh air. We see that Princess Peach, who is voiced by Anya Taylor-Joy, is a complete badass who not only could possibly lead an army but she’ll be the one to train Mario in what is an homage to the original NES levels style obstacle course and also teach him the ways of the power-ups we know and love from the games including the flying suit from Super Mario 3.

The coup de gras of the trailer is the last 15 seconds where we see Mario put the pedal to the metal and reveal MARIO KART is going to play a role in the film and RAINBOW FREAKING ROAD is gonna be there! We then hear Chris Pratt do a very convincing “Wahoo!” when the screen goes black and the crescendo on the Mario theme done to an orchestra rises up.

There is so much that they revealed in this trailer that it makes me both excited and nervous that maybe they bit off more than they could chew when it comes to the storyline of the film. They’re showing us that they are going to incorporate Mario & Luigi’s origin to coming to the Mushroom Kingdom, Bowser’s quest to take over, Mario’s training, fighting Donkey Kong, and Mario Kart?! It’s crazy but hopefully, they can pull it off. Let me know what you think about the trailer and if you’ll be seeing the film. Either way, the new Nintendo land at Universal Theatres Hollywood is gonna have a lot of movie merch.
