Vince Neil is sharing a strange new picture of Mötley Crüe with their new guitarist John 5, who will be stepping in for Mick Mars for future Mötley Crüe live dates.

Neil tweeted a photoshopped pic of the “new” Crüe, with John 5 added in.

The original photo of the band was shot by photographer Dustin Jack, and then altered by a fan, with John 5 in place of Mars.

Neil wrote, “Cool pic! New Crue!”

Crüe guitarist Mick Mars has retired from touring due to his ongoing painful struggle with Ankylosing Spondylitis, a crippling degenerative disease, which affects the spine.

A statement from Mars’ rep explained, “Due to his ongoing painful struggle with Ankylosing Spondylitis he will no longer be able to tour with the band. Mick will continue as a member of the band but can no longer handle the rigors of the road. A.S. is an extremely painful and crippling degenerative disease, which affects the spine.”

In response to the decision, the band announced, “We’ll continue to honor [Mick’s] musical legacy. We will carry out Mick’s wish and continue to tour the world as planned in 2023.”

Confirming his new role, John 5 said he is “honored to carry on Mick’s legacy”.
