Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger says Mötley Crüe fans have nothing to worry about with new guitarist John 5.

In a radio interview with Detroit’s WRIF, Kroeger said he met John at Tommy Lee’s 60th birthday bash, and watched the guitarist play “every single Mötley Crüe riff that’s ever been written and recorded – flawlessly.”

Last month, Crüe guitarist Mick Mars announced that he would retire from the road due to health concerns, with John 5 taking over touring duties.

The statement said, “Due to his ongoing painful struggle with Ankylosing Spondylitis he will no longer be able to tour with the band. Mick will continue as a member of the band but can no longer handle the rigors of the road.  A.S. is an extremely painful and crippling degenerative disease, which affects the spine.”

Confirming his new role, John 5 said he is “honored to carry on Mick’s legacy”.
