YouTube, @NBC.

This past Monday we finally got the last 11 contestants, including California, to perform in front of America to see who will be the final four to move onto the semi-finals. Along with the four semi-finalists from last week’s round, one of the two redemption votes was announced and I couldn’t be any more excited! Here are the results from week four:

 Allen Stone – WASHINGTON
Jared Lee – MASSACHUSETTS
Stella Cole – GEORGIA
Mari – NEW HAMPSHIRE

REDEMPTION VOTE:

Ryan Charles – WYOMING – New Boot Goofin’

That’s right, New Boot Goofin’ is moving on! Like I said we finally got to see California and the rest perform on Monday. If you missed out here’s who performed and what I thought about their performances:

ILLINOIS – Justin Jesso
Song Title: “Lifeline”
A fun uplifting song where Justin Jesso has some decent vocal prowess and great range. He brings a great message along with his lyrics. Great big finish.

CALIFORNIA – Sweet Taboo
Song Title: “Keys to the Kingdom”
What if TLC were from East LA? You would have the trio of Sweet Taboo. Started out with covers but now they have a banger like “Keys to the Kingdom.” Fun, catchy, and a lot of bass. A fun combo of melodies and rap.

IDAHO – Andrew Sheppard
Song Title: “Steady Machine”
Fun folky rock. Andrew started playing in punk bands so he has some gravitas behind his voice. The song started out mellow just guitar and rose to full folk-rock. Really enjoyed it.

NEW MEXICO – Khalisol
Song Title: “Drop”
He may be from New Mexico but his song had some Bay Area Hyphy influence in it. The song had a great beat, the lyrics were hot, and can definitely get down to this one if it was bumping in the club. What’s great about it is it was just straight hop hop.

MISSOURI – Halie
Song Title: “Better Things”
The song is a good song, it’s beautiful and lovely but I feel like her vocals could’ve been stronger for the majority of the song. I enjoyed it but it sounds like the majority of the country-pop out there.

AMERICAN SAMOA – Tenelle
Song Title: “Full Circle”
A great song that is dedicated to her home territory. A great mix of hip hop, R&B, and reggae. The song is fun, and upbeat with great strong vocals from Tenelle.

NORTH CAROLINA – John Morgan
Song Title: “Right in the Middle”
A beautiful song, a great representation of modern country. John Morgan’s vocals are great and strong and the song itself is great, catchy, and a hit!

VERMONT – Josh Panda
Song Title: “Rollercoaster”
Such a fun soulful song. Josh Panda comes at you with a super upbeat song with his powerful vocals. The song has a beautiful message, it’s super catchy, and might be my front runner.

GUAM – Jason J.
Song Title: “Midnight”
This song is the perfect song to just sit back and enjoy the beach. The perfect island vibing song is midnight. Jason J comes at you with powerful vocals along with a cool smooth sounding summer anthem.

MICHIGAN – Ada Leann
Song Title: “Natalie”
The song is about a girl who was cheated on and the passion in the lyrics can definitely be seen and heard in the vocals. Ada has a beautiful singing voice and the song with her singing does a great job at telling the story.

MARYLAND– Sisqó
Song Title: “It’s Up”
Sisqó is back with another big club hit. He brings big beats, great vocals, and pyro! The song is overall a good one and it’s fun and catchy.

JURY SELECTION: MICHIGAN – Ada Leann
JOE HAWK’S PICKS: Sisqó, Josh Panda, Sweet Taboo

Next week the Semi-Finals begin so be sure to tune in to see who advances! American Song Contest airs Monday Nights @ 8pm on NBC.
