CDC Director: ‘Doubly Important’ To Get Flu Shot This Year


While most of the focus has been on the COVID-19 vaccine this year, health officials are urging Americans not to forget their annual flu shot.

CDC Director Rochelle Walensky says it’s “doubly important” for people to get a flu shot this year, with the virus expected to make a comeback after historically low flu numbers last winter.

Experts also say that anyone who still needs the COVID-19 vaccine – or a booster shot – can get both vaccines in the same visit.
