Danish rock band Volbeat recently announced their eighth studio album, “Servant of the Mind” to be released on December 3. Lead singer Michael Poulson joined Chasta of 107.7 The Bone this week to discuss what it was like to write an album in quarantine.

“I told the management, ‘I’m just going sit down and write a new album,” Poulson said. “They said ‘sounds like a perfect plan.’ It was just some words I threw out in the air but why not? Normally we’d be on tour and it’s going to take one and a half years to write an album, and then you come home and try to find some inspiration, and you are in 20 different bubbles writing.”

“Now you are just at home. So I stayed in one bubble, so when I picked up the guitar a lot of the heavy stuff just came out. It was fun, it came out naturally, and every time I went to the rehearsal room we had a new song. Pretty soon we had a new album in three months.”
