Mike McGlinchey explains how this year’s training camp was different from last season’s

Football is back! And that means the Mike McGlinchey Show is back on 107.7 The Bone. Every week, 49ers right tackle, No. 69 Mike McGlinchey, joins Lamont and Tonelli to talk all things 49ers and more.

On Thursday, McGlinchey broke down what is different about the 49ers in 2021, a year removed from a brutal injury-filled season in the midst of a pandemic.

“Well for one, we’re healthy, which is a nice change of pace,” McGlinchey said. “Other than that we have a lot of new additions which shored up some spots on our team that were a little weak. We have a little bit more depth in certain places. We have more competition on our team. It was a competitive training camp and offseason.

“I think the guys that we have in our building and the team that we have put together here is ready to make a run. Like I said, the name of the game for us is staying healthy and having all our weapons on the field including we have a great veteran o-line, we have unbelievable skill positions, we have guys that can sling the football all over the field and our defense is lights out. So it’s going to be a great year for the 49ers. We’ve got to keep our health and stuff about us, but excited for what’s going to take place.”
